The European Association for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy is a forum for the exchange of ideas in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, particularly through promotion of postgraduate education, funding of research and training. To achieve this, the EAGE has the following goals: • Organisation of postgraduate courses with an emphasis on clinical gastroenterology   Sponsorship of special training in research • Stimulation of young investigators through prizes for research achievements • Fostering of European links by encouraging membership from all European countries and by helping local groups to organize meetings and courses Dear colleagues, dear friends, Allow me to greet you on behalf of the European Association for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy - EAGE. The EAGE is one of the founding organizations, of the contemporary United European Gastroenterological Federation. The activities of the EAGE are European post-graduate events in form of • one-day post-graduate courses – mainly monothematic • two day post-graduate school – covering the whole gastroenterological area in connection with other factors, such as relation between autoimmunity and gastroenterological diseases or chronic inflammation and its participation in carcinogenesis • the extraordinary two-day Bridging Meeting, where young Gastroenterologists can present their research work to Professors and Mentors Our aim is to hold interactive and highly professional teaching events and to provide exchange platforms to further expand the knowledge of young Gastroenterologist around Europe. The EAGE offers individual membership through EAGE course participation and members are eligible for a two-year online subscription of the Digestive Disease Publication. The Digestive Disease magazine is issued by the EAGE and it is focused to publish lectures from above mentioned post-graduate events. Dear colleagues, gastroenterology is typically an interdisciplinary matter. We present gastroenterological education in close connection with issues of e.g. gastro-oncology, immunology or genetics. We believe that such post-graduate education is the right step in education of a young gastroenterological generation. Our website will inform you about scheduled events and programs.
